Cullies 2 Dullies

To be very honest I had a tough time on the bike. Looking back on my experience, I recognise that my battle wasn’t physical but mental and emotional. I could have ridden at a faster pace, but seeing the hills in front of me got to me. And when everyone passed by me and I got left behind, I couldn’t help getting emotional.

However, my expectations for this trip was more centred around relationships and experiencing the love of the Father. I can truly say that I experienced the love of the Father through the compassion and support of others. There were several people who saw my mental and emotional struggles and gave up their own personal ambition to come along-side me. There is nothing more precious to me than those experiences on the bike. I realise now more than ever that I really can’t do this conditioning thing on my own. Not only do I need to rely on the help of the Holy Spirit, I often need the support of my blood-bought family. I value the fact that we can all challenge ourselves based on where we are at physical but the collective anointing is also very poweful in moments of an individual’s weakness. I am grateful for my brothers and sisters and probably wouldn’t have finished either of the cycling days without them.

My next goal in conditioning would be probably be to start running again. I don’t necessarily have a distance goal but would like to break the 10km ceiling. As winter is approaching, I really want to at least maintain my current level of fitness. It would be great if I could reach a 100km on the bike by the end of this year. I am also looking forward to doing pilates again with Pastor Garth and the rest of the office.
